Prior to becoming President, Ken was Chief Operating Officer, overseeing integrated claims, leave of absence (LOA), workers’ compensation and medical unit operations at Matrix. He has also launched several initiatives dedicated toward improvement in service delivery, technology, reporting/ analytics and staff development.
Nearly two decades of industry experience have afforded Ken leadership experience in account management, program compliance, clinical outcomes, implementation, call center operations, product development/strategy, customer satisfaction, performance/quality management and client retention strategies.
Prior to joining Matrix in 2012, Ken was Vice President of Absence Management Outsourcing for global benefits consultant Aon Hewitt. In this executive-level role, he held direct responsibility for all aspects of absence management delivery operations, overseeing an international organization. Prior to his tenure at Aon Hewitt, Ken was employed by Kemper National Services/Broadspire, last serving as director of claims management.
Before beginning his insurance career, Ken served in the United States Navy for four years. Ken is currently enrolled in the Robert Morris University Instructional Leadership and Management Design doctoral program. His thesis centers around understanding the implications of legislated paid family leave on employer sponsored benefit programs. He anticipates earning his Ph.D. in the spring of 2019.
Marti Cardi has leveraged a legal career of studying, interpreting, and indeed shaping US employment law to inspire and drive forward Matrix's market leading product development and service delivery. As Vice President, Product Compliance, Marti ensures Matrix clients and their employees are informed, advised and - most importantly - well served by Matrix's services and business processes in the face of ever-changing industry regulation. A nationally known speaker and author, Marti is the founder, lead author, and executive editor of Matrix Radar, an industry blog bringing commentary and clarity to employers and absence and benefits professionals nationwide.
Prior to originating her role at Matrix, Marti was Chief Compliance Officer for Reed Group, where she led the company's advancement of compliance with state and federal leave laws. Her specialization in employment law began as a practicing attorney in leading Denver law firms and included in-house employment counsel assignments for multiple national companies before joining the consultant community. Marti appears frequently at industry conferences, presenting to employer and consultant audiences on topics related to absence, productivity, and compliance.
Marti received her J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law.
Prior to joining Matrix, Robb served as an Associate Professor at Franciscan University and as an Adjunct Professor at Robert Morris University while maintaining a private law practice, specializing in labor and employment law.
Robb received his bachelor’s degree from Kent State University, an MBA from Franciscan University of Steubenville, J.D. from The University of Akron and his Ph.D in Instructional Management and Leadership from Robert Morris University.
Her responsibility within the organization includes Integrated Claims Manager, Director of Training and Quality Assurance and Business Analyst with the Information Technology group. Ms. Murray is member of the senior management team.
Ms. Murray has a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Sciences/ Medical Technology from San Francisco State University. Prior to joining Matrix in 1993, she was employed at various third-party administrators and insurance carriers handling short- and long-term disability and workers’ compensation claims.
Gordon joined Matrix in 2003 and under his leadership, Matrix has introduced many technology and business process improvements, including the TPA industry’s first mobile application for smartphones and tablets. Other initiatives include:

- Automated claim creation
- Matrix client focus group
Prior to joining Matrix, Gordon was Vice President of Client Services at Valley Oak Systems, a provider of workers’ compensation and claims administration software. He has served in senior management positions with leading companies in the United States and Europe for more than 15 years.
Gordon attended the University of Ulster where he attained a Higher National Diploma in Electronic Engineering and his British Computer Society qualification in Computing.
Most recently with Professional Disability Associates, Bert was responsible for PDA’s vocational rehabilitation team, forensic vocational support and disability consulting. Prior to that, he held leadership roles in clinical, vocational and disability claims management for organizations like Prudential and Unum.
Bert resides in the Phoenix, AZ area. He earned his master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling and B.S. in Psychology from the University of Florida.
Suzanne received her B.A. and M.B.A. (with an emphasis in Finance) from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
